Clean Up Success

A massive THANK YOU to everyone that came along and helped at the Gilvenbank Park community clean up event earlier today.

Over 20 people were out reaching just about every corner of the park and came back with an astounding amount of rubbish!

Great to see local groups such as Glenrothes Gladiators junior cricket and individuals and families from the local community taking part. A huge thanks goes to the Markinch Litter Picker Warriors for leading on the organisation of the event.

We are also grateful for the support from the Junior Fife Street Champions and Fife Street Champions groups whose focus is on encouraging people to keep their local communities tidy. The rubbish picked will be logged with their official numbers, but it was roughly 30 face masks, 130 poo bags, 30 bags of rubbish and various large pieces including chairs, footstools, washing machine drums, parasol, bicycle wheel, a bike (not missing a wheel) and a car wheel!

Please get involved with each of those groups for other local litter pick and clean up events. For the Hub, we’ll likely be running another Gilvenbank Park clean up event around March 2022 so keep an eye out!!
